More than 50 car crashes reported on LI due to storm
Nassau and Suffolk police are reporting dozens of car crashes and numerous spinouts.
Snow, slush and ice from the storm created a triple threat for drivers.
One SUV wound up upside down on Motor Parkway in Central Islip. Another car slammed into a pole on Jericho Turnpike near the Woodbury-Syosset border.
Some drivers say they are surprised by the number of dangerous drivers out.
"I've seen a couple people slide off the road," said Bob Carton, of Syosset. "People cut people off. People going through red lights. It's just nuts out there. "
