Governor says all roads remain open

(AP) -- New York state officials say there have been no highway closures as a result of the latest snowstorm, but commercial traffic has been banned from one interstate.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo says the State Police are monitoring highway conditions as parts of the state get hit with a foot or more of snow.
That led to Interstate 84 between the Connecticut and Pennsylvania lines being closed to commercial traffic Thursday afternoon.
Cuomo says the decision to close highways is made on a case-by-case basis, insisting decisions during this storm aren't being influenced by criticism he took earlier this month for closing parts of I-84.
Cuomo also was criticized last year when he decided to not close the Long Island Expressway. A storm dumped nearly three feet of snow and motorists were stranded for many hours.
