Free health care coverage is being offered to some New Yorkers who had issues with New York's health insurance exchange.
Empire BlueCross BlueShield has agreed to give three weeks of free coverage to customers who signed up for health insurance on the New York exchange, but never received it due to enrollment problems.
Many of Empire's customers never received ID cards, were given wrong ID numbers or discovered their payments had been lost.
About 20,000 policy holders will receive checks from Empire in the mail.
