Residents across Long Island restocked their winter supplies before Wednesday's predicted snow and ice storm.
Many residents told News 12 that some stores, including the Home Depot in East Meadow, were sold out of snow supplies. The store manager says they ran out of shovels and salt, leaving customers with a choice of sand, salt alternatives and garden shovels.
The frequent snowstorms have left salt supplies dangerously low for some Long Island towns as well.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo's office told News 12 they are providing salt to the Town of Hempstead, North Hempstead and the villages of Mineola and Lindenhurst before Wednesday's icy blast.
Snow is expected to mix with sleet and freezing rain between 5 a.m. and 9 a.m.
