Long Islanders balk at latest blast of snow

Frustrated Long Islanders recoiled at the sight of a fresh blanket of snow this morning, following a bleak January that nearly broke snow total records.
Even Ace Hardware manager Andy Pergament says he's had enough of selling salt and shovels. "Enough is enough, I'm ready for spring," he said. "I'm ready to put fertilizer out. I'm ready to pack the snow shovels away, preferably sell them first. But it's been a winter like we haven't seen in a number of years."
In Levittown, resident Mike Maggio vented as he put down ice melt. "I'm done," he said. "I'm done with this. It's too much. Just end it."
There's bad news for the unamused: another round of snow and sleet is due to arrive Tuesday night.
