Crews work to clear roads before more snow

Crews will be working overnight to clear roadways in the wake of Monday's snowstorm.
Several inches of heavy snow blanketed the Island's roads, making both the morning and evening commutes a challenge.
State police say they responded to four to five times as many accidents on the parkways than normal. Many of those spinouts and crashes were blamed on speeding or reckless driving.
Troopers warn that passing another car can churn up a wave of slush that could temporarily blind other drivers. They also caution that having a large SUV doesn't give drivers a license to drive faster on the snow-covered roads.
"You can't get a false sense of security because you have four-wheel drive," said Trooper Frank Bandiero. "Just slow it down."
News 12 meteorologists say snow will reach the Island again by early Wednesday morning, although current models show it will likely switch over to rain later in the day Wednesday.
