2 Northport officers honored for saving newborn
Police say two Northport police officers have been honored for saving the life of a newborn.
Police officers Devin Humphreys and Steven Golub were honored at a Northport Village board meeting last night.
Police say they received a call Saturday that a mother was in labor at her Fifth Avenue home. However, before they arrived, the woman gave birth to a daughter on the bathroom floor. Officers say the baby was blue and not breathing, so they used a medicine dropper to clear the baby's airway.
The little girl and her mom went to the hospital and are doing OK.
