Lynbrook man accused of breaking into gas station

A Lynbrook man is accused of breaking into the gas station where he was a regular customer.

Police say they arrested Joseph Monaco at his Lynbrook home yesterday.

According to police, Monaco pried open the front door of the BP Gas Station mart on Sunrise Highway just before 6 a.m. Saturday.

Police say the 30-year-old stole cigarettes and scratch-off tickets.

The store owner reviewed the surveillance video and recognized Monaco as a customer.
