Report: LI schools spent $730K on football helmets in 2016

High schools across Long Island spent more than $730,000 on nearly 3,000 top-rated football helmets this year, according to Newsday.



It's a move to help prevent players from sustaining head injuries, including concussions.



The paper says there were 383 suspected concussions during the 2015 Long Island football season.
