Mel Brooks gets involved in LI state Senate race
Comedy legend Mel Brooks has gotten involved in one of Long Island's state Senate races.
Brooks recorded robocalls for his great nephew, state Sen. Todd Kaminsky (D - 9th District).
Kaminsky won a special election in May to fill Dean Skelos's seat. He is now running for a full term.
Republican challenger Christopher McGrath issued a statement to News 12 saying, "Todd Kaminsky did nothing this summer with regards to the Green Acres Mall tax abatement, and as a result, the residents are paying upwards of $1,200 more on their tax bill and yet he believes you should vote for him because Mel Brook is his Uncle."
