Residents push for more police following string of taxi robberies
Officials say there is a new push for an increased police presence following a string of tax robberies in Nassau County.
Residents in Elmont say more police patrols are needed to crack down on violent crimes.
The move comes after nine cab drivers were robbed at gunpoint in less than a year.
Police believe the holdups are part of a pattern.
Community leaders have also started a task force aimed at keeping their neighborhoods safe.
