All lanes have reopened on the westbound Long Island Expressway at exit 44 after a garbage truck fire snarled traffic.
It was not immediately clear how the fire started or if anyone was hurt.
Police say the incident occurred just before 11 a.m.
Three lanes were closed at the Seaford-Oyster Bay Expressway exit in Syosset.
