Police: Cars damaged after man attempts to remove tree in roadway

Officials say a Good Samaritan tried to move a downed tree that was blocking a Huntington Station street, but ended up making things worse.

The tree fell on East Pulaski Road in Huntington Station around 4:30 p.m. Monday.

Police say a man started dragging the tree away with his truck, but damaged four vehicles in the process.

The man eventually took off, leaving the tree blocking the road.

Town workers had to cut it up and police are still looking for the man.
