Nun from LI reported missing in Europe

A Long Island nun and former teacher at St. Anthony's has been reported missing overseas.

Authorities say a search is underway for Sister Eileen Christie. Her nephew tells News 12 that she went missing last Wednesday while on vacation in Austria.

Her family believes she was going to visit a lake.

The nun belongs to the Sisters of St. Joseph, in Brentwood. She formerly worked as a teacher at St. Anthony's in Huntington, where she taught for more than 20 years before she retired.
