Police: Man armed with shotgun tried to rob bank

A man is accused of trying to rob a Hempstead bank armed with a shotgun.



Nassau police say Prince Conteh, of Massachusetts, walked into the Bank of America branch on Main Street just before noon Saturday.



They say he left empty-handed, then crashed his getaway car into a police cruiser and took off on foot.



He was apprehended a short time later.
