Police: Woman shot while walking in Huntington Station

Police are searching for the person who shot a woman walking down the street in Huntington Station. 



According to police, Lanise Felder, 40, was shot while walking on Craven Avenue toward 10th Avenue around 11:20 p.m. on Wednesday. 



Police say the victim thought she heard a firecracker, and then realized she was shot in the leg.



Felder was taken to the hospital and treated for the gunshot wound.



Police believe a black SUV, possibly a Nissan Pahtfinder, may have left the scene of the shooting.
