Huntington day care investigated after child’s arm is broken

A Huntington day care center is being investigated for abuse after child's arm was fractured.
Mirian Seminario, a 57-year-old teacher at Rainbow Chimes Child Care, was arrested last Friday and charged with reckless assault and child endangerment.
Police say it stems from an incident on June 15 where Seminario allegedly grabbed a toddler's arm and fractured it.
The state suspended the center's license after the incident last week while it investigated. The center has since reopened after it agreed to a "corrective action plan" that includes training.
The executive director of Rainbow Chimes says she couldn't show News 12 the video, citing the child's privacy. She did say the incident was nothing more than an accident. The incident was reported to the state by a pediatrician who was required to under state law after discovering what she called a "hairline fracture."
The state did an inspection, and cited the facility with 14 violations in connection with the incident.
An officials familiar with the incident tells News 12 that the teacher was fired as part of the agreement with the state to reopen.
