Swiss-made solar plane takes off from JFK
New York is now in the logbook of the solar plane making its way around the world.
The Swiss-made Solar Impulse 2 took off from Kennedy airport early Monday morning.
The departure marked the start of the longest leg of the aircraft's voyage, a 90-hour nonstop journey across the Atlantic Ocean.
Possible landing spots are currently located in Spain and France.
The Impulse 2 is set to finish its journey in Abu Dhabi.
