Sentencing postponed for Oyster Bay couple who abused pit bull
The sentencing of an Oyster Bay couple who admitted to abusing their pit bull has been postponed.
The sentencing was originally set for Monday, but has been moved to a later date.
In March, Miss Harper's former owners, Shawanna and Lee Hughes, pleaded guilty to abuse charges.
The abuse included cutting off their dog's ear and part of her leg.
Lee faces six months behind bars, while Shawanna faces a year.
A veterinary technician has already been sentenced to a condition release for performing unlicensed surgery on the animal.
