Brothers arraigned following raid of Mt. Sinai home
Two brothers arrested following a raid in Mount Sinai that uncovered drugs, cash and weapons were arraigned today.
Police say when they raided the home in Mount Sinai they found 10 assault rifles with high-capacity magazines, a handgun, a shotgun and instructions on how to make bombs in the home. In addition, police say the brothers had a host of neo-Nazi material.
Edward Perkowski, 29, was charged with six counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, two counts of fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession of marijuana. He was held on $200,000 bond.
Sean Perkowski, 25, who also lives in the home, was charged with an outstanding bench warrant issued by the Town of Babylon. He was fined $50.
Next-door neighbor Brian Saltzer says he and others have complained about suspected drug and gun activity at the house. Saltzer claims he was assaulted by the Perkowskis in March after a dispute about a couch on the lawn.

"They think I'm Jewish, they actually threatened to burn me in the oven," says Saltzer. "I just wish something was done sooner because we've felt threatened for the last three years."
Saltzer says he complained to the Suffolk County Police Department and Legislator Sarah Anker but that little to nothing was done. The Suffolk County Police Department says it has to establish probable cause and establish a case, and that they worked diligently on this case - with good results yesterday.
An attorney for Edward Perkowski told reporters that his client runs a military surplus company but only lives in the house part-time. He denies any of the items seized belong to Edward Perkowski.
