Police shut down alleged drug houses in Medford
Police say they have shut down five alleged drug houses in Medford over the last month, resulting in the seizure of 2 kilograms of heroin, 4 kilograms of cocaine and more than $1 million in cash.
Authorities say three of the homes were on Norfleet Lane, one was on West Yaphank Road and another was on Wilson Avenue.
Pshawn Smith and Leslie Harris were arrested Wednesday at the Wilson Avenue home and charged with drug possession. Suffolk Police Commissioner Tim Sini says a gun, 100 grams of cocaine, 200 grams of heroin, drug scales, plastic bags, cellphones and ammunition were recovered from the home. It also had a surveillance system.
Officials say the homes were extremely overcrowded and had massive code violations. The Town of Brookhaven says they have been condemned.
