Alarm registration program begins in Suffolk

Suffolk County's alarm registration program officially begins today.

The "Alarm Management Program" is designed to cut the number of false alarm calls throughout the county.

The program costs $50 for homeowners to register and $100 for businesses.

If you are not registered, police can charge you if they respond to more than two false alarms.

Nassau has a similar program already in place.
