TSA administrator: Airport security waits won’t improve soon
TSA administrator Peter Neffenger is causing turbulence among airline travelers by saying that long security waits at airports will not be improving soon.
Neffenger says 768 extra screeners are being rushed into service.
To deal with the long lines, some airports like San Francisco International Airport are privatizing their security and hiring their own security staff.
The Port Authority has told the TSA that it will do the same as San Francisco if there aren't improvements.
Industry trade group Airlines For America says 231 million travelers will be going through the airports this holiday weekend.
