Beam from World Trade Center to become part of Cold Spring Harbor memorial
One of the last remaining pieces of steel from the World Trade Center has made its way to Long Island.
A 17-foot long, 18,000-pound beam believed to have come from the North Tower was picked up from JFK International Airport by the Cold Spring Fire Department and taken to the Town of Huntington Recycling facility Wednesday morning.
The beam will become part of a 9/11 memorial in Cold Spring Harbor.
