A nearly 10-hour long standoff between police and a Roslyn man is over this morning.

Police say it was around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday when the man surrendered, after barricading himself inside his Tatterson Street home.

The situation started at around 2 p.m. when officers - serving court related documents - believed the unidentified man inside pointed a rifle at them.

Heavily armored vehicles from police and SWAT teams responded to the barricade situation.

The police presence included members of the Bureau of Special Operations, emergency service unit, hostage negotiators, uniformed Nassau police officers, detectives and some units from the Nassau Sheriff's Office.

Neighbors, who had been evacuated, were allowed back into their homes before midnight. No injuries have been reported.

Charges against the man, who is in his 50s, are pending.
