Feel the Beat: Deaf children find inspiration in dancing at Next Generation Dance in East Northport
Fans of ABC's "Dancing with the Stars" watched this week as the first deaf dancer, Nyle DiMarco, made it to the finals.
He is inspiring millions - including young deaf dancers on Long Island - who are taking part in dance classes at Next Generation Dance in East Northport.
Vibrations felt in the air and on the bamboo floor, and strobe lights, help the dancers keep the beat.
The class is all about feeling good and having fun.
And while dancing is fun, it also improves balance, coordination, and confidence.
Dance classes for the students from the Cleary School and the Mill Neck School for the deaf are held at Next Generation Dance in East Northport.
