Police say a man tried to rob a bakery in North Merrick Friday afternoon.
They say the incident happened around 3 p.m. at Vincent's Bakery on Merrick Avenue.
The crook was armed with a knife when he demanded cash from an employee behind the counter, according to police.
They say another employee then knocked the knife out of the suspect's hand and he fled without taking anything.
