'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' opens across LI

Whether you are waiting in a movie line on Long Island or blasting womp rats on Tatooine, it seems like the whole galaxy is excited about the opening of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens."



Theaters across Long Island began showing the seventh installment of the space saga as early as 7 p.m.



"The Force Awakens" takes place 30 years after "Return of the Jedi."



Moviegoers are urged to act fast to avoid sold-out shows.
