Wantagh man accused in home rental scam

Police say a Wantagh man has been arrested in an alleged home rental scam.

According to investigators, John Wallace posted a listing on Craigslist to rent out a vacant Massapequa Park home that he does not own.

After touring the home, a victim gave Wallace $2,500, according to investigators.

Wallace, 25, is being charged with two counts of second-degree burglary and fourth-degree grand larceny.

Police are asking anyone who thinks they may have been a victim to call Nassau's Seventh Squad at 516-573-6752.
