Mangelli concedes to Venditto in Oyster Bay supervisor race
Democrat John Mangelli has conceded to longtime incumbent John Venditto in the disputed Oyster Bay town supervisor race.
The race was considered too close to call on Election Day. Mangelli led Republican incumbent John Venditto by barely 70 votes.
After the counting of more than 1,000 absentee ballots, Mangelli says the race belongs to Venditto.
"Despite having the winning number of votes on election night, it appears the absentee ballots have secured the victory for Supervisor Venditto," he said.
Mangelli says he plans to run again.
