LIPA cuts size of proposed rate hike

News 12 Long Island has learned that the LIPA board has cut the size of the three back-to-back rate hikes.
The proposed increase in utility bills has been lowered from the original $441 million rate hike to $287 million, according to Newsday.
Officials say part of the reason is lower fuel costs.
