New home donated to LI veteran

Hundreds of people came out to welcome Cpl. Kevin Vaughn to his new home in North Merrick.

The 26-year-old veteran is going to move into his new house mortgage-free. It's located just a few miles from his parents' home, thanks to the Building Homes for Heroes organization.

Vaughn lost one of his legs four years ago while serving in Afghanistan. He says he is looking forward to the future in his new home.

In 2015 alone, Building Homes for Heroes has donated 31 homes across the country to wounded veterans.

Vaughn is expected to move into his house next week.
