Police: LIer arrested on JFK-bound flight

A Long Island man was arrested after causing a New York-bound flight to be diverted.

Police say American Airlines flight 622 from Phoenix to JFK was diverted to Wichita, Kansas, just before 7 p.m. Tuesday after a man disrupted the flight.

The passenger, identified as Jason Baroletti, 38, of Holbrook, was removed from the flight and arrested for making a criminal threat. The FBI may also bring charges against Baroletti.

The nature of the threat was not immediately clear.

After Baroletti's arrest, the plane continued on to JFK Airport.
