Attempted Islip home break-in caught on camera
Police are searching for a man who was caught on camera trying to break down the door of an Islip home.
Surveillance video shows the suspect trying at least 10 times to break down the front door of the home on Ferndale Drive at around 1 p.m. on Oct. 19 before he gives up and walks away.
Homeowner Lisa Riggio says she arrived home from work to a damaged front door that her husband had to pry open with a crowbar. They also found framed photos that were on the walls near the door on the floor.
The husband and wife then reviewed the surveillance video. They plan to install more cameras outside their home.
Anyone who recognizes the man is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
