Boy's service dog goes missing in Nesconset

The hunt is on in Suffolk County for a service dog that belongs to a teen with autism.
Kimberly Varvaro says the German shepherd, named Lulu, has been missing since Friday. Varvaro believes the dog may have jumped out of a window in a panic when her 13-year-old son, Christopher, ran out of his room during a storm.
The family moved into their new Nesconset home just a few weeks ago, and Varvaro says she believes that's why Lulu can't find her way back home.
"My son is devastated, I am devastated," says Varvaro. "She is a vital part of our every day. She keeps him from wandering out of the house in the middle of the night. She is his emotional strength. She helps him go onto the playground and say hello to other kids, and she gives him the confidence that he needs."
Lulu is light tan and black. Anyone who sees her is urged to email puppyplaytime01@yahoo.com.
