Police: Man dead after Rocky Point bar fight

Police say a man died after a fight broke out overnight at the Rocky Point Ale House, but it's unclear if the death was related to the fight.

Police say they were called to a report of an altercation at the bar located on Broadway at Prince Road.

Officers responded to the scene at around 10 p.m. They say they found a man, identified as 42-year-old Michael Murphy, suffering from a "medical event."

Murphy was taken to Mather Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The cause of death is not known at this time.

Investigators say rumors of a shooting at the bar were unfounded.

Homicide detectives are investigating the case.
