Seaford residents want county to maintain trees
Some Seaford residents say that new trees planted by Nassau County have seen better days and are in need of care. The trees were planted along Seamans Neck Road. Area residents say the trees need work.

Some Seaford residents say that new trees planted by Nassau County have seen better days and are in need of care.
The trees were planted along Seamans Neck Road. Area residents say the trees need work.
Last summer, crews cut down more than 160 mature trees that lined the roadway. The trees were cut so the county could replace sidewalks that were damaged by tree roots.
James Coll, of Seaford, says that he and his neighbors have sent emails and placed phone calls to the county but have heard nothing so far.
A Department of Public Works spokesperson says the new trees will be replaced if they do not survive, but gave no timeline regarding when that would happen.
