Taxi driver accused of driving high, crashing into store

A taxi driver has been arrested and is accused of driving high on drugs and crashing into a Central Islip 7-Eleven.

Officials say Jean Oreste, of Islip Terrace, was pulling into the parking lot on East Suffolk Avenue near Dovecoat Lane when he hit the gas instead of the brake.

The car went about five feet into the convenience store.

The incident happened just before 1 a.m. Tuesday.

No one was hurt during the incident, but the 24-year-old was arrested and charged with DWAI.
