Man with toddler in car among 4 arrested at checkpoint
Police say four people were arrested at a sobriety checkpoint in Riverhead overnight, including one man who had a young child in his car.
Police say Sergio Vidales Valle, 29, of Calverton, entered the checkpoint on Route 25A at around 12:30 a.m. Sunday. He allegedly displayed signs of intoxication and was arrested.
Vidales Valle's 2-year-old daughter and wife were in the vehicle. They were taken to their home after Vidales Valle was taken into custody.
Vidales Valle was charged with felony DWI and aggravated felony DWI under Leandra's Law, along with several traffic violations.
The other three persons arrested at the checkpoint have not been identified.
