Restaurant owner captures vandal on camera
The owner of a Suffolk County restaurant repeatedly targeted by vandals says he caught the suspect on camera.
Surveillance video appears to show someone spray-painting the front of the Sage Cafe in Blue Point just before 1 a.m. Thursday. Owner Jonathan Schwardon says the latest incident is the fourth to occur at his business. The last time vandals struck the cafe was about a year ago, Schwardon says.
That last incident prompted him to install security cameras and flood lights. Schwardon says that whoever committed the last act of vandalism left behind a can of spray-paint, which he hopes contains the perpetrator's fingerprints.
Anyone with information is asked to call Suffolk County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
