Poll: Long Islanders approve of Pope Francis

The pope has made some major announcements regarding abortions and marriage annulments in recent weeks.



Long Islanders hold Pope Francis in high regard, according to a new poll by Newsday, News 12 and Siena College.



About 86 percent of Long Island Catholics approve of the pontiff's job so far, according to the poll.



News 12 asked Long Islanders how they viewed the new pope.
