Police: Missing teen contacted parents

Police say Daniel Soares, the Commack teen who went missing last Wednesday, has made contact with his parents.

The 17-year-old boy's mother said in a Facebook post that her son has reached out to her online, and said he is safe.

However, he has not returned home and his parents say they still do not know where the teen is.

As News 12 has reported, Soares was last seen at the Kings Park train station. His family filed a missing persons report and has handed out fliers in an effort to find him.
