Rep. King warns of terror risk amid migrant crisis

Rep. Peter King says the U.S. needs to exhibit caution as it navigates the migrant crisis that is gripping Europe.
Hundreds of thousands of people from Syria, Iraq and other nations have been fleeing to escape the violence and danger wrought by Islamic State militants. As Europe and the U.S. work on ways to handle the situation, Rep. King is raising concerns about the U.S. stepping in.
"It's a terrible humanitarian crisis," said King (R-Seaford). "You have many people suffering, it's a horrible situation. But my concern is if we move too quickly to allow these immigrants, these refugees into the United States, there's a real risk that you could have terrorists with them, either ISIS or al-Qaida."
The U.S. is expected to bring about 1,800 migrants into the country by the end of the year. King says it needs to be a careful process.
"We have very little intelligence on the ground, we don't know who's who, and there is a risk of bringing in thousands and thousands of people without being able to vet them," King continued. "And I don't know how we vet them, because there's no background on them. You run the risk of having another Boston Marathon."
