Coast Guard calls off search for paraglider

The Coast Guard has called off a search in the waters off the East End after it received reports of a missing paraglider.
Authorities spent more than 16 hours searching after callers reported a person had gone down near Robbins Island in Peconic Bay.
However, the Coast Guard now tells News 12 that it has received no reports of a missing person, and there have been no signs of a missing paraglider on the water.
In a statement, the Coast Guard reminded all mariners to let a friend or family member on land know about where they intend to go and when they should be expected back in case something goes wrong.
