Iowa poll: Clinton leads, Sanders gaining ground
According to a new poll, Sen. Bernie Sanders is gaining ground on Hillary Clinton in Iowa in the race for the presidency.
A new Des Moines Register/Bloomberg Politics Iowa poll shows Sen. Sanders is gaining ground in Iowa in the Democratic nomination.
Sanders is now within seven points of front runner Hillary Clinton. Sanders says his message has remained the same, better wages and more affordable education for the working class.
Nassau County Democratic Chairman Jay Jacobs says the new numbers aren't a concern. He says he believes his longtime friend will ultimately get the Democratic nod.
"The polls go up and they go down and frankly this has been a summer where a lot of negative attention has been on Hillary. And nobody has been talking too much or asking too many questions of her opponents in the Democratic race," Jacobs says.
