Wild Nassau chase ends in Seaford, driver arrested
An Oceanside man is accused of driving a stolen vehicle while high, and leading police on a high-speed chase in Nassau County.
State troopers say the incident began on the Southern State Parkway Wednesday afternoon.
They say they attempted to pull over Michael Kessler, but he sped away at over 100 mph on the Seaford-Oyster Bay Expressway.
He then allegedly got off onto Sunrise Highway, and drove east in the westbound lanes. At one point, police say he jumped from the stolen Jeep while it was still in motion.
The Jeep crashed into a vehicle near Jackson Avenue in Seaford.
Police say Kessler then ran into St. William the Abbot School before he was apprehended. He faces many charges, including driving while ability impaired by drugs and fleeing police.
