Man dead in William Floyd Parkway crash

Police say a man was killed in a crash on William Floyd Parkway in Ridge early Saturday morning.



The crash happened in the southbound lanes of the highway by Longwood Road in Ridge shortly before 6:30 a.m. The man veered off the road and into the woods, where he crashed into several trees, investigators say.



The parkway was shut down for several hours at Route 25.



The victim has not yet been identified.
