Billy Joel headlines final Coliseum show
Hicksville's own Billy Joel performed the final show at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum Tuesday night.
The frontman of the Billy Joel cover band Big Shot, Mike DelGuidice, joined the Piano Man on stage. So did Paul Simon.
The show marked the end of the Coliseum's 43-year history and Joel's 32nd show on the stage. His first Coliseum show was in December 1977.
Tuesday's closing act also marked Joel's return to the Coliseum after a 17-year absence.
The firm of developer Bruce Ratner, Forest City Ratner Companies, is set to begin a $261 million renovation this month.
