Teen drivers get crash course in avoiding accidents

Teen drivers in Suffolk County got an important lesson in avoiding crashes.

The Suffolk County Police Department offered its Crash Course in Crash Avoidance. The free course has been offered for the past nine years.

The defensive driving lesson is offered to teens from 16 to 18 years old.

The young drivers learned about the "evasive maneuver," which shows what to do when a child runs into the middle of the road.
