A 51-year-old bicyclist was killed after being struck by a car in Lake Ronkonkoma Tuesday evening.
The crash occurred on Portion Road.
Police say a Ronkonkoma woman was driving eastbound around 8 p.m. when the bicyclist suddenly swerved in front of her.
Luis Benitez, of Bohemia, was struck and killed.
The driver was not injured.
While there are no current charges against the driver, police are asking anyone with information to call the Fourth Squad at 631-854-8452.
